Growing Trends in Media Rooms
While the idea of a personal home theater isn’t going anywhere, many homeowners are now incorporating Media Rooms into their home design as the growing concept of open floor plans remains at the top of homeowners’ priority list. Perhaps allocating the square footage or putting dollars aside for a dedicated home theater just aren’t possible, however the importance of great audio and visual in a space is highly important for entertaining or your own family’s enjoyment.
By definition, the term “Media Room” has evolved into a generic definition for a multipurpose space that is outfitted with a large flat-screen television, surround sound and cozy seating. Most recently, a Media Room is more than that—it is a social and immersive experience. We enjoy the opportunity to take our clients’ expectations, and exceed them with specifying equipment that takes their viewing experience to another level. In addition, we take great pride in protecting the interior designer’s and/or architect’s vision with design-forward installations that make the equipment appear as a natural part of the entire design aesthetic.
A few examples of custom installs to beautifully blend the interiors with the audio visual components include:
1) Recessing the televisions into the feature walls
2) Creating custom pieces like a motorized art lift to cover the television when not in use
3) Designing custom sound bars to better fit the exact dimensions of the television
4) Specifying grills for the in-wall and in-ceiling speakers that perfectly match paint color or that are flush to the walls and ceiling for a cleaner installation
